Cala Xuclà

Cala Xuclà is situated at two kilometres from Portinatx, located between Punta Excusi and Cala Xarraca, as well as below the Puig de sa Xarraca.

The puntas de sa Torre and Xarraca are the limits on the sides of the entrance to Badia de Cala Xarraca, in the interior of which you can find several coves, and we are now describing the first one.

This quiet beach is quite small and it is the end of a small and narrow u-shaped sea inlet. The cliffs which are quite high are the natural breakwaters and they are covered by some thick pine trees. The beach has quite fine-grained white sand and the slope is gentle (at 25 metres from the coast there is a depth of less than one and a half metres).

The marine and underwater conditions for anchoring boats are good in the south-eastern area, on a rocky ground, and the depth ranges from five to eight metres. The wind nearly disappears in this sea inlet. The beautiful marine ground and the transparency of the water invite to dive.

The accessibility by car is easy following the signs and the deviations. The last two hectometres have to be done on a steep track. The private car can be left on a free parking area in the surroundings. You can also reach this beach with the public transport. The nearest bus stop is located next to this beach.

These characteristics explain that the beach is not very crowded by tourists.
