S'illot d'en Rencli
S'Illot d'en Rencli is situated at three kilometres from Portinatx, located between the coves Xuclà and Xarraca, as well as below the Puig de sa Xarraca. This beach has its name given by the small island which can be seen from this coastal corner, with a rich underwater ecosystem and an excellent place for diving.
The puntas de sa Torre and Xarraca are the limits on the sides of the entrance to Badia de Cala Xarraca, in the interior of which there are several coves, and we are now describing the second one.
The coast is characterized by being more open to the bay and by the small size. The beach has quite fine-grained golden sand, surrounded by some rocky cliffs, on the top of which there is scrubland, it has a gentle slope (at 20 metres from the coast there is a depth of 1,5 metres).
The marine and underwater conditions for anchoring boats are good on a sandy ground in the centre and a rocky ground on the sides, with a depth that ranges from two to three metres. The navigator has also to be careful with the small island.
The accessibility by car is easy following the signs and the deviations. The last part has to be done on a sandy track in good conditions which is quite steep. The private car can be left on a free parking area in the surroundings. You can also reach this beach with the public transport. The nearest bus stop is located at three hectometres from this beach.
These characteristics explain that the beach is not very crowded by tourists.
