Punta Xinxó

Punta Xinxó or d'en Xinxó is situated at 12 kilometres from Sant Josep de sa Talaia, located between Punta de Pinet and Caló se s'Oli, as well as in front of the village, port and nautical club of Sant Antoni de Portmany (the port facilities have a repair and fuel service), located at six kilometres.

This bathing area is 170 metres long and it includes the rocky headland with the same name and a beach which is actually known as Platja d'en Xinxó, although it used to be called Cala Bou in the past, the name which is now used to mention the developed area in the south of the Badia (“bay”) of Portmany.

This semi urban beach is the result of a u-shaped sea inlet which is open to the bay of Sant Antoni de Portmany. Two rocky headlands with no vegetation (Pinet and Xinxó) are the sides of this sandy beach which has an exposition to the swell and the wind from the east-southeast, quiet and clean water, and it is recommended for diving as well. There are some touristy and residential buildings which go from the rear to the coastline.

The accessibility by car is easy following the signs and the deviations. The private car can be left on a free parking area in the surroundings. You can also reach this beach with the public transport. The nearest bus stop is located in the surroundings.

These characteristics explain that the beach is very crowded by tourists.
